Piano Lessons

I tutor piano for students of all ages and levels.

When are you available for piano lessons?
I am currently available to teach students on weekdays between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm and Saturdays between 9 am and 1:30 pm. I teach at my home, which is in the Madley Park area of Witney. I do not travel to other people’s homes.

How many lessons must I commit to?
Terms are for three months. For best results, students are advised to have two lessons a week. If a student is over seven years of age, it is advisable that they have a one-hour lesson. Payment must be made at the beginning of each term. Every six months or a year, students will take part in a concert.

How can I help my child to progress more quickly?
To progress quickly, students should practice for at least half an hour on their own. Practice can be lonely, and children benefit from company. So sit with your child while they practice and encourage them. They should practice for at least half an hour every day.

Students should attend lessons regularly. Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons. However, it is better that parents do not stay after the third lesson. This will help your child to focus on learning and not get distracted. If you must stay, please keep quiet and do not interrupt your child during the lesson, as this will hinder their progress.

For children age five-years-old or younger, it is best to commit for at least a year. You should start to see good progress being made after about six months.

What books do you use?
Students will be informed about which book to buy in the introductory session.

Do you teach adult students?
I am happy to teach adult students.
